In 2013, my husband Kevin and I purchased Lilacs of Sterling from the previous owner. Growing up as a child I spent a lot of time with my Grandmother, watching and admiring her design silk arrangements. I also embraced her love of flowers such as roses, pansies and household plants. For as long as I can remember, I have pursued hobbies in the arts and creative world, such as sewing, balloon sculptures, scrapbooking, themed parties and weddings.
After running daycare for a combined 16 years in my hometown and Leominster, I chose to switch careers. Growing up in Lanesboro, Ma, a small town in Berkshire County, I connected immediately to Sterling. When I walked into Lilacs I felt like a little girl again, happily overwhelmed by the beautiful arrangements and aromas of the flowers. I knew this was where I belonged.
With the support of my husband, three children and three step-children, I began my new career. Through Lilacs, I have been able to fully explore all of my passions, especially by incorporating the retro candy, fudge, and balloons. We have recently moved locations, from 27 Main St to 13 Waushacum Ave. This new space will allow us to better serve you! We'll have better parking and more space for parties and classes. Stayed tuned on our Facebook page, website and local newspapers for upcoming classes or call us and book a party! Thank you to all the loyal customers, and friends for supporting me when I took over as the new owner. I am honored to be a part of this beautiful and quaint community. - Lisa Coleman
